A series of workshops for parents of teens and pre-teens.
Trafalgar launched these popular workshops in the Fall of ’17, opening them to parents of teens and preteens.
From a “how-to” guide to the teenage brain, to a healthy approach to fitness, nutrition, and body image, presentations by experts in their fields provided an enlightening educational experience for adults.
Participants praised the workshops for being “rooted in research, but so practical.”
This year, Trafalgar reprises some of the themes from last year’s workshops, and introduces several new ones.

Practical Strategies for Living with Care, Calm & Compassion
In a world full of online trolls, cyberbullying and political scandals, it’s harder than ever to model compassion, civility and upstanding behaviour to our kids. This workshop looks at why that’s so important and how we can help them make kindness a part of their everyday lives. Using a combination of presentation and hands-on activities, we’ll discuss the following:
- Why “choosing kind”?
- The mental health connection
- Mean world syndrome
- Managing difficult people
- A digital angle
- 3 social media strategies
- Moral code: Dignity, civility, respect
Featured Speaker: Alissa Sklar, Ph.D.
